This is the most complete and physically demanding trek we offer, into more remote forest sections. Trails gradually become less defined, campsites more isolated and daily distances longer, making good physical condition and mental resilience important.

With five days in the rainforest, the experience deepens. Your guide shares knowledge about medicinal plants and the animals that live in this ecosystem. These may include various monkey species, hornbills, monitor lizards or the Great Argus pheasant.

In the more remote parts of the jungle, there is also a small but natural chance of encountering wild elephants or discovering signs of Sumatran tiger tracks.

Throughout the expedition you also learn basic survival skills, such as fishing in the river and on the final night, building a simple campsite using natural forest materials.

Evenings are quiet, with no road sounds, just the river and the natural sounds of the rainforest.
