Bat Cave tour in Bukit Lawang

Explore a mysterious cave filled with thousands of bats , hidden at the edge of the rainforest.

Just 10-15 minutes from our guesthouse, you reach the Bat Cave (Gua Kelelawar), hidden at the edge of Gunung Leuser National Park.

This short tour focuses purely on the cave, making it a simple and accessible experience for all ages. A short walk through small plantations and jungle paths lead you to the cave entrance.

Inside, you explore several chambers filled with stalactites and stalagmites. Thousand of bats rest high above in the dark ceiling, creating a unique and atmospheric setting.

While it is possible to visit the cave independently, many travelers choose to go with a guide. The cave can be dark and slippery, a local guide knows the safest route and shares insights about the unique rock formations and the wildlife that inhabits the cave.
